l am a true Jamaican!

THE EDITOR, Sir:
ON MARCH 27th 2002 a letter was published in The Gleaner that l had written. l just want to give my sincere thanks for publishing it under the title, "My Island in the Sun". Since that letter l must say God has answered my prayer, l said in my letter l was hoping to come back to Jamaica and walk the street like l used to in my younger days. Well, Mr. Editor, l did.
On May 18, 2002 l was fortunate to return to my "Island in the Sun". On my arrival in Montego Bay l had to kiss the ground after touchdown. l had to contain myself as l was popping out of my seat, l was so excited. l spent four wonderful days in Jamaica like a child in a candy store.
Before l left Jamaica l sang to myself, "The trumpet has sounded my countrymen all, so wake from your slumber and answer the call, the call is united, the dawn is at hand, so wake from your slumber with trumpet in hand, Land of my birth l pledge to thee, loyal and faithful and true to thee".
If you look in the dictionary to find the word Jamaica, rest assured you will see my face next to the word, because l am a true Jamaican!
