Help needed, RGD
published: Thursday | February 13, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

IT HAS been almost two years since I applied for a birth certificate at the St. Ann's Bay Regional Office for my son Curtis Wilson (entry #GF7739) and cannot get it. It has cost me an arm and a leg to make telephone calls to St. Ann's Bay and Spanish Town and visits to the St. Ann's Bay Regional Office.

Each time I go to St. Ann's Bay or call there I am given another story. For example, it was posted to me so I am to go back to the post office but in the same breath no one can give me a registration number because they usually register this item. "It is unclaimed mail", but no one can find it.

The last time I went to St. Ann's Bay I was given the Registrar's telephone number to call her but you know what happens here, the telephone rang for ten minutes and no one answered it. This is after I was given a myriad of telephone numbers to call (these also rang without an answer).

I filled out three complaint forms at the Regional Office, but heard nothing from them. I filled out another form at the Regional office and was told by Mr. Redwood that I have to pay for it again. I think this is grossly unfair, so I refused to do so.

I am enclosing a copy of the Official Receiptand hoping that after this letter has been published I will get a positive response from that office.

I am, etc.,

EVELYN ROSE

P.O. Box 15

Moneague P.O.

St. Ann

Note: The official receipt number is 188980.
