Plaudits for JUTC
published: Thursday | February 13, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I HAPPENED to be a commuter aboard one of the government-owned JUTC buses and without exaggeration I must admit that I was flabbergasted by the quality service offered.

Unlike the regular passenger transportation, there was no music that was cracked above normal listening decibels as a matter of fact there was none! There were no conductors loading, cramping the automobile with not only passengers, but foul odour, intolerable language and indiscipline. There was not a single person seen hanging out from the side of the moving vehicle; the service offered by the cashiers was comparatively good. Without overlooking the disadvantages, I am obliged to utter that I am satisfied
satisfied with the service offered.

But unfortunately, despite this quality service offered by the JUTC I am saddened that some passengers seem disappointed by such progress. Is it that they like indiscipline or are they ignorant in knowing what is best for them and hence prefer to be treated like hooligans.

Congratulations, JUTC, and please continue to improve your system so that you can be even more efficient.

I am, etc.,
