In my sojourn through life and especially in the last 18 years I am experiencing a great lack of what is involved in living in community. Our people don't seem to care about the people who live next door or in the area in which they live and move and have their being.
We have become selfish, greedy and envious and the general malaise is indicative of the general behaviour.
The million-dollar question is what action do we need to take in order to correct this way of life.
Noise! Noise! Noise! Emanating from motor vehicles with illegal mufflers, loud music from cars and minibuses, 'sound systems'- all these blast the air continually and complaint or even requests made periodically bring no relief. The usual reaction is "me have a right fi listen to di music mi want fi hear."
But what is the right of the law-abiding citizens who don't wish to hear that particular type of music.
Will someone please tell me how to achieve the possibility of "living in community."
I am, etc
