Coast Guard gets high-speed boats
The Jamaica Coast Guard recently got three high-speed boats courtesy of the United States Government to enhance the work with drug interdiction.

Proposals invited for KCT phase IV
T HE Port Authority of Jamaica is now inviting proposals from qualified local and international engineering firms for the development of phase four of the Kingston Container Terminal.


China Shipping to increase capacity
CHINA SHIPPING Container lines, which ranks among the world's top container carriers, plans to increase its total shipping capacity to 250,000 Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit (TEUs), by the year 2005. China Shipping currently has a capacity of 120,000 TEUs.


Panama to meet security demand
PANAMA Maritime Authority (AMP) has said it will arrange its vessel certification to comply with new International Maritime Organisation (IMO)maritime security codes, which are to come into force by July 2004.
