THE EDITOR, Sir:
The 'Friends of Granville', a group from Canada, have recently completed a project with the teachers and PTA at the Granville All Age School in Trelawny. The computer lab that was installed in the library could not have been completed without the help of the dedicated teachers who took the steps to insure that the room was ready for the work to be done.
We also would like to thank Gregory Stewart and his staff at Microsoft Jamaica for their assistance with operating systems for the 15 computers. I have to say that we were amazed at the enthusiasm of the teachers, students and the workers who built the desks and installed the electrical outlets and security bars on the windows. Special thanks to the children at the school for their warm welcome and assistance with the work.
In August, it is our intention to work in partnership with all concerned to build an addition on to the school and to install a computer lab at another school. (We are not certain which school.) We are very thankful for the opportunity to work with those involved. I am sure that their efforts now and in the future will make a difference in the lives of these children.
We look forward to a very long relationship with all our new friends in Jamaica.
We are, etc.,
DAVID AND DIANE CHARLEBOIS
and the Friends Of Granville.
