Recognising bravery
published: Wednesday | February 19, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

PERMIT ME to recall this caption. January 8, 2003 "Burning Pleasure Boat Scares Cruise Trippers".

Two fishermen, Glen Campbell and Kirk Davis, demonstrated quick thinking and valour, to prevent a catastrophe. They saw the situation, jumped into the sea with a rope, attached it to the burning boat and pulled it safely away from the cruise ship.

I believe that these young fishermen, for their bravery and for preventing a disastrous situation must be recognised with a commendation, a plaque and a small sum.

I am, etc.,
