Village clip Waterhouse

FALMOUTH, Trelawny:

JERMAINE Anderson's 84th minute header gave Village a 1-0 win over Waterhouse in the Wray & Nephew National Premier League game at the Elleston Wakeland Sports Complex in Falmouth yesterday.

After out-dribbling Vincent Earle, Fabian Dawkins squared the ball perfectly into the path of Anderson whose rocket header comprehensively beat goalkeeper Loxley Reid. Although going down Waterhouse were not outplayed and at times had Village on the run, primarily in the first half.

Kevin Lamey should have given Waterhouse at least a goal in the 30th minute when he was left unmarked but his header was off target.

Village went closest to scoring another goal when Dawkins had again made one of his dribbles. The advancing goalkeeper was beaten but his push to team-mate Thomas Grant fell short and the goalkeeper recovered.

Winning coach Geoffrey Maxwell was dissatisfied with his team's play attributing this to unfitness.
