Frightening, yet amusing
published: Thursday | March 6, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I FOUND your news article 'We need help' frightening, yet amusing! JLP spokesman Audley Shaw challenged the PNP Government for its excessive employment of consultants/advisers, often PNP supporters, at cost to taxpayers of $95 million per annum!

Minister Maxine Wilson-Henry, was very defensive, she said: "I am entitled to special assistants and special advisers, I have been very scrupulous. I can't spend my time correcting letters when they are not written properly." If the Government has to employ highly paid consultants/advisers, for petty tasks such as 'correcting letters', they couldn't be really serious about governing!

I am etc.,
