Girls' Brigade launches tag drive
published: Thursday | March 6, 2003

FALMOUTH, Trelawny:

THE GIRLS' Brigade in Jamaica is marking a special month of celebrations in March and in keeping with this, its Second Trelawny Company affiliated to the Falmouth United Church had an enrolment and tag drive launch at the church last Sunday.

Miriam Gordon was installed as president while three girls were enrolled. As part of the ceremony, they were required to pledge to uphold the principles of the organisation. The tag drive was launched by Member of Parliament (MP), Dr. Patrick Harris. The MP noted that although there advancements in the society, there is a lacking for such groups which teach values and attitude. He encouraged the leaders and girls to continue and strengthen the movement.

At the close of the worship there was a drill, march-past and salute.

Host pastor, the Rev. Wayne Wisdom, also challenged the girls and the congregation to live up to godly principles.
