Freight Handlers is Econocaribe's 'Foreign Agent for 2002'

FREIGHT HANDLERS Limited, local agents for Econocaribe Consolidators Inc. of Miami, Florida, has been recognised as the company's Foreign Agent of the Year 2002 for the sixth time in 10 years. Freight Handlers has risen on top of about 40 Econocaribe agents from the Caribbean, South and Central America.

The status is bestowed based on the company's volume of work, customer service, adherence to the Principals policy and procedures; operational /clients satisfaction and leadership in market as well as its thrust to keep Principal abreast of local developments which might affect operations, among others.

In addition, Freight Handlers Sales Representative, Kerrian Johnson, was selected as the 'Foreign Destination Salesperson of the Year 2002'. Miss Johnson, who works out of the Freight Handlers Office in Newport West, was chosen based on sales performance, customer satisfaction and her positive work ethics.

President of Econocaribe, John Abisch made the announcement at the company's recent year-end office/agent party in Miami where he congratulated the winners on their achievements in what was described as a very competitive environment

Commenting on the company's recent achievement, Denise Lyn Fatt, Managing Director of Freight Handlers said, the award is a recognition of the work Freight Handlers team is doing for its Principal.

"They (Principals) think Jamaica has a lot to offer. Econocaribe has been in Jamaica for 35 year now and there is a lot of positives that they see here," said Mrs. Lyn Fatt.

Founded in 1988 by the husband/wife team of Neville and Denise Lyn Fatt, Freight Handlers Limited operates from a head office in Newport West, Kingston and has a branch office in Montego Bay.

The company represents a number of Non Vessel Operating Common Carriers (NVOCCs), a major one being Econocaribe, the leading neutral NVOCC with services from the U.S.A., Canada, Europe, Latin America and the Far East to the Caribbean and Latin America. Econocaribe offers air, FCL and LCL services to 47 direct consolidation markets with its own consolidations. Freight Handlers is a member of the Shipping Association of Jamaica
