Boycott US products
published: Tuesday | March 25, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

GEORGE BUSH and his gang apparently believe they are militarily and economically so powerful that nothing can now stop their perverted policies from succeeding. They also apparently believe that by causing chaos and misery in a weakened third-rate nation they will emerge even stronger than before.

Let us prove them wrong on both counts. And make normal 'American people' realise that every single, common 21st century individual woman and man throughout the rest of the world has a voice and has something mighty powerful to say.

Never forget we collectively have enormous economic power.

We use American credit cards, we buy American CDs, we eat American fast foods, we fly American Airlines, we wear American sneakers, we watch American movies and videos and we visit America.

But no longer. For as long as America continues to defy us and mock our protests.

From today make your individual voice heard. Do not buy articles with a 'Made in USA' label or an American flag on them. Always fly non-U.S. carriers. Boycott cinemas showing American movies. Stop buying American CDs featuring American artistes. The list is endless.

This may seem puny against Wall Street's massive resources but just one product left on a supermarket shelf each day by each and every one of us will soon make them come to their senses.

I am, etc.,
