Leaking crisis
published: Monday | March 31, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I WRITE to note that the professed loss of 30 per cent of National Water Commission revenue, which I assume is based on 30 per cent volume of water lost to leaking, should be considered a crisis of national proportion.

Besides the education of our children, a safe and sure water supply is necessary to live; the education of our children is necessary to ensure the survival of our society and culture.

The NWC should seek urgently to address the problems of leaks of the system, because the world is quickly running out of fresh water to drink. I also believe it is probably easier to fix the leaking pipes first, before tackling the other issue of water diversion by persons unknown.

I am etc.,
