A man of substance
published: Monday | March 31, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I WRITE to encourage and hail the Rev. Stephen-Claude Hyatt as a man of substance and bravery. Many readers may not know that he is a young man under 30 years old. Yet, he approaches his letters with such maturity and without condemnation.

Many pastors would not have been able to tackle some of the issues posed to him, without being judgmental and condemnatory. He is not a personal friend of mine, but I have had occasion to speak with the gentleman before, and am very impressed with his intellectual ability.

Rev. Hyatt, be encouraged, as I know personally that you have helped a lot of young people, who are really grateful to have someone practical to turn to. I have heard them speak of you as someone they can trust to be honest with them and not to trivialise their concerns. Keep up the good work.

I am etc.,
