T annton Pouyat
published: Wednesday | April 9, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I SEEK the family or anyone who may have information on a young airman, Tannton Oswald Coretantine Pouyat, who was sadly killed whilst training in Canada during WW2. He was the son of Aubrey C. and May F. Pouyat of St. Andrew, and died on 7th December 1943, aged 25 years.

The church were he is buried are keen to trace the families of 16 airmen (14 buried at their church) who are remembered each year at a special service when flowers are placed on each grave, a most moving service.

I am trying to put together a short history of each man, but know nothing about Tannton.

Please does anyone know where he went to school, college, or his work prior to joining up? Is his name on a was memorial in Jamaica? Does anyone have a photo of him, or his home/school?I do so hope someone can help me please and look forward to hearing.

I am, etc.,

I. WILSON
