Goodbye to a friend

THE EDITOR, Sir:
I WAS very saddened to learn of the tragic death of Pauline Gray. She has been a dear friend to me for over 35 years. We originally met at school in London and continued to keep in touch when she and her family returned to Jamaica.
In all the years that I have known Pauline, I have found her to be hard working, warm and intelligent, excellent company and also a proud and loving mother. She was a true and valuable friend and will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
