
Richards in action. - File JAMAICA TICKED off victory number two in the Fed Cup's Americas Qualifying Group 11 tennis tournament in San Juan, Puerto Rico, yesterday.
Playing in Group B of Group 11, Jamaica followed up Wednesday's 3-0 victory over Bermuda with another 3-0 victory over Bolivia.
In yesterday's match, Megan Moulton-Levy defeated Maria Fernando Alvarez 6-2, 6-1 and Alanna Broderick defeated Monica Poveda 6-2, 6-3 before the Jamaican pair returned to stop Alvarez and Poveda 6-2, 7-5 in the doubles.
On Wednesday against Bermuda, Moulton-Levy defeated Ashley Brooks 6-2, 6-1, Broderick defeated Zara De Silva 6-1, 6-3, and Broderick and Kadija Richards defeated Kara Fisher and Sasha Fisher 6-1, 6-2.
Jamaica are scheduled to meet Trinidad and Tobago tomorrow and Chile on Sunday.
In other matches on Wednesday, Boliva defeated Trinidad and Tobago 3-0 while hosts Puerto Rico beat the Dominican Republic 3-0 and Ecuador shut out Costa Rica 3-0 in Group A of Group 11.
Yesterday, CHile defeated Bermuda 3-0 while Venezuela defeated Dominica Republic 3-0 and Puerto Rico defeated Ecuador 3-0.
Venezuela are the top seeds in Group B, Chile the top seeds in Group B, and the top two finishers in each group will advance to Group 1 next year.
The matches are being played on a hard court in Central Park on a hard surface.
Americas Qualifying Group I is being held in Brazil, where matches are being played on a red clay surface. The host nation, Uruguay, Mexico, Bahamas, Canada, Cuba, El Salvador and Paraguay are the participating teams.
