England blow away Windalco
published: Sunday | April 27, 2003

ENGLAND are in a jubilant mood going into tomorrow's practice game against Jamaica's Sunshine Girls after thrashing Windalco 63-29 in a one-sided affair at G.C. Foster College yesterday.

The English team posted quarterly scores of 16-9, 38-14 and 52-25 but despite being confident ahead of the next game, they are cognizant that they face a much sterner challenge against the local senior squad.

Said specialist coach Vicki Wilson, who is here with the team for this series:

"It will be a great game between the England team and Jamaica team. The Jamaicans are skilful and flambouyant and in front of a home crowd will no doubt be dangerous."

Shooting in yesterday's game, Windalco's national senior squad member Tiffannie Wolfe scored 16 of 23 attempts, Marsha Murphy 10 of 11 and Dianna Millwood three of five.

For England Abby Teare scored 17 of 20, Karen Greig 21 of 24, Alex Astle 13 of 17 and Jess Garland 12 of 19.

Tomorrow's game will be played at G.C. Foster College at 4:30 p.m.
