THE EDITOR, Sir:
KINDLY ALLOW me space to compliment Mr. Vasciannie for the columns he writes. He writes as an educated man and an educator.
He has taken older folks into the realities of today, which will obviously baffle "praisers of the deeds of the past" the defenders of elementary education.
He has invited today's journalists to be more precise and seek the truth. He has demonstrated that examiners are not gods and only try to test the "umph" of the weakest as well as the strongest candidate on a common paper.
I like the debate and since trust in Jamaican language also indicates to pay later as well as confidence in another, yet expresses no ambiguity in economic terms, I invite all readers to get involved in this beautiful debate and respect for cognition. There is a place in comprehension for what is referred to as Reading in the Content Area.
Keep it up Stephen, others will follow. This is the only true path in a debate on education.
I am, etc.,
