Raw-deal governance

THE EDITOR, Sir:

AS I listened to the Budget presentation by the Finance Minister, Dr. Omar Davies, I now see why Jamaica is getting a raw deal in governance and leadership.

While the rolling back of the GCT on specific items was welcomed, this manoeuvre by the Minister showed incompetence.

The cart was put before the horse! It appears to me that this Government has a specific modus operandi of trial and error. What the Government seems to do from time to time is to throw out its intended plan to see what effect that plan might have on the populace. This plan would then be withdrawn if it does not go well with the populace.

This has been demonstrated with the announcement of the GCT by the Minister of Finance. This was also evident with the Government's announcement of property taxes sometime ago.
