THE JAMAICAN dollar lost 58 cents in value in trading against the US currency yesterday.
An average selling rate of $58.86 to the US dollar yesterday, was preceded by a rate of $58.28 on Monday and $58.01 on Friday. Since Friday the currency has thus lost 85 cents so far and last week the currency lost $1.16 against the US currency.
To the Canadian dollar, the average selling rate of the local currency was $40.86. An average selling rate of $94.40 was obtained in trading against the British pound.
