THE JAMAICAN Government and the European Commission have agreed to earmark 20 million euros over the next five years for support to private sector development in the island.
The funds are being allocated in the context of the co-operation under the Cotonou partnership agreement between the European Union and the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) states.
According to a release issued by the Jamaica Business Development Centre, in that regard, a team of consultants has been assisting in preparing a project aimed at boosting development of the Jamaican private sector, in accordance with the Government's policies and strategies. The consultants will present and discuss its findings and recommendations to private sector stakeholders at a meeting in Kingston tomorrow.
