Appeal to the Chief Justice
published: Monday | May 12, 2003
THE EDITOR, Sir:
IT IS most unfortunate that from time to time, the present Chief Justice of Jamaica, His Honour Mr. Lensley Wolfe, gets involved in trivial matters which do not become a man of his training or of the high office which he holds.
All other persons who have filled this high position before him, and without any exception, have never stooped to petty matters as he does, and have always displayed the high and exemplary qualities which are in keeping with the high office of Chief Justice.
The Chief Justice is undoubtedly a man of great ability but he needs to display at all times and to all categories of persons, that magnanimity and broadmindedness which are expected from a person of his standing.
I am to make an earnest and urgent appeal to the Chief Justice to rise above petty things, in speech and action, and to show to all Jamaica at all times, that magnanimity and erudition which are within him.
