Golden Grove needs PO
published: Tuesday | May 13, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THE RESIDENTS of Eastern St. Thomas have suffered great inconvenience in the past due to the closure of the Golden Grove Post Office. We had to travel roughly 15 miles to Morant Bay to go to the Post Office. The accommodation at the present rented location nearby is very unsuitable and inconvenient including poor ventilation and loud noises from a sound system owned by the landlord.

We were informed recently that the Golden Grove Post Office will be relocated to Morant Bay. As a result of this information there was a demonstration here at Golden Grove on Monday April 14, 2003.

We the citizens of Eastern St. Thomas will be putting our money together to rebuild this post office at the original spot. We therefore use this print media to ask the tradesmen, masons, carpenters, electricians in this area or elsewhere to volunteer to rebuild this post office because it is essential to our daily lives.

I am, etc.,

SAMUEL LANGLEY

Golden Grove P.O.

St. Thomas
