Major road project for Manchester
published: Wednesday | May 14, 2003

THE NATIONAL Works Agency (NWA) will be undertaking a major road rehabilitation project in Manchester at a cost of $208 million.

Areas to be upgraded include the Williamsfield to Greenvale main road for which culverts have been laid and retaining walls constructed to improve drainage, while preparatory works have started for improvements on the Mandeville to Mark Post and Whitney Turn to Trinity roads.

Lagan Holdings and Surrey Paving Limited will be carrying out the improvement works.

The NWA is advising all motorists and other road users to proceed with caution and obey the various signs posted along the way.

According to Mayor of Mandeville, Councillor Horace Williams, the improvements were being facilitated under the Kuwait Assisted Road Rehabilitation programme. "We will be seeing three major roads in and around the capital being improved as a result," he informed.
