Cannot afford tax increase!

THE EDITOR, Sir;
I AM no graduate economist, but from a commonsense point of view it seems to me that given the present mood of the country it is either we U.S. dollarise or our Goverment imposes the discipline of fixing the relationship of our Jamaican dollar to the U.S. dollar between, say, 50 and 60 to the U.S. dollar perhaps temporarily, until this runaway situation stabilises.
Certainly, we cannot long afford this ungoverned rise in our cost of living! Soon very few of us will be able to afford the cost of dying!
