Intolerable road conditions

THE EDITOR, Sir:
IF PART of the quality of good living is enhanced by good roads, then the people of this sleepy little village of Knapdale in St. Ann, are experiencing 'living hell'.
Thanks to our former Member of Parliament for North West St. Ann, Arnold Bertram, only a small section of that road was done. Colin Campbell announced on TV before the last General Elections that monies were budgeted for completion of that road. It is unexplainable, as to how much suffering these poor and unfortunate people must experience from the dusty, intolerable and deplorable conditions of the road.
Even though this mainly farming district needs rain for survival, nature has been good to us in a way so far. If a flood occurs, God help us, as we might become marooned in our homes, and the road will become impassable to pedestrians and vehicular traffic.
Do the people have to resort to blocking the main roads, for their feeble voices to be heard? As members of that community, we are begging the powers that be, to repair the roads, and give some semblance of living and existence to these residents. We are still Jamaicans.
