WESTERN BUREAU:
THE ST. JAMES police are trying to figure out the circumstances surrounding the death of a man whose body was found in the Brandon Avenue area of Montego Bay on Saturday.
The Montego Criminal Investigative Branch (CIB), which is probing the incident, theorises that the man, believed to be in his 30s, but whose identity is yet to be ascertained, was killed elsewhere and his body dumped in the community. They say forensic evidence supports the theory.
The body, discovered by residents at about 6 a.m., was clad in blue jeans and red shirt, and wearing a black and white sneakers. The body also sported braided hairstyle. The probe into the matter is continuing.
This latest death brings to 29, the number of murders in St. James, since the start of the year. So far the police say they have had a 59 per cent success rate in solving murders committed in the parish, since January 1.
