I WAS truly elated to learn of Trudy McLeary's success in the Scripps Howard Spelling Bee Competition. Heartiest congratulations to Miss McLeary, her coach and to all Jamaicans.

Her success was no mean feat and it goes to show the depth of potential that we, as a people, possess.
