Farewell, Mother Rose

THE EDITOR, Sir:
IT WAS saddening to learn of the passing of Mother Rose a pillar of the Jamaica Christian Boys Home. From I was a boy growing up in the home I could always count on her for good care and nurturing.
She was the epitome of grandmotherhood and a caregiver. The boys at the home could always depend on Mother Rose to prepare our meals and to help us in our daily upbringing. She was a stickler for discipline and she always loved her Lord. One could always notice her when she dressed for Church (Webster United) and she always encouraged us boys to go to church and school.
QUALITY CARE
In today's Jamaica when children homes are accused of molestation and even torture, Mother Rose and the other staff at the Jamaica Christian Boys Home have provided and continues to provide quality care for the boys in the government care. Jamaica Christian Boys Home was not a Place of Safety; it was and continues to be a children's home. I am a better person because of the caring of the late Mother Nora Rose. May her soul rest in peace.
