SANTOS PUT an end to the controversy which surrounded the final of the Kingston and St. Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Super League with a 2-0 victory at Harbour View yesterday in a replayed game.

A defender's goal in the 40th minute and another by Richard West in the 83rd minute gave Santos their 2-0 win on the day and 3-0 victory on aggregate. They now advance to the National Premier League playoffs and go up against Los Perfectos on Monday.

An elated Carlton 'Spanner' Dennis, who was hoarse at the end of the game, said he felt great and that if he had Boys' Town to play every day then his team would "be champions every day". It was Santos' fifth victory over Boys' Town for the season.

"When I tell people that I am going to take Santos out of Major League (and) Super League into the Premier League they say that I am a madman because we do not have any funding," he said.

"My little money a spend. I hope people will come on board now and help us," Dennis said.

Boys' Town's coach, Andrew Price, felt his team's failure to convert chances was responsible for their downfall.

"We got numerous chances in the first 15 minutes of play and we did not convert. Goals win matches and my team did not convert," said Price.

He added: "Santos wanted it more than us and if you do not give the effort you are going to be second best and we were second best on the day."

Showing grace and humility, Price offered congratulations to the winners and best wishes for the playoffs.

"Congratulations to Santos and I hope they go forward and progress in the playoffs," he said.

Boys' Town played the game under protest but Price hinted that they would accept their fate.

"We have already lodged the protest ... wherever it goes I do not know but, like I said, congratulations to Santos. They are deserving champions. They beat us fair and square. We will take the beating like big men."
