Hazardous roads need 'Work'
published: Thursday | June 12, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I submit to you an open letter to the National Works Agency:

Dear Mr. Palmer: I live in the parish of Portland and work in St. Mary, the Annotto Bay area. I would like you to tell me why is it that the roads on the route between Port Antonio and Temple Hall are without median lines (the white line down the centre)? This makes driving, especially through the 'Junction" even more hazardous. I also wonder why is it that you and your team have not sought to install reflectors at strategic points in the said Junction?

Another source of puzzlement for me is that massive recurrent landslide just after 'Georgia' heading southwards. It seems like it could pose a significant danger to motorists, since not only does this mudslide take place regularly but also after each land slippage, the NWA, some time later, heaps this mountain of dirt for the next downpour. Why is that?

I am, etc.,
