An unspeakable tragedy
published: Friday | June 20, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I AM writing this letter spontaneously after reading about the unspeakable tragedy of a speeding motor vehicle that killed Icilyn Treasure's three children in St. Thomas. There are no words to express the grief and loss Ms. Treasure and so many others who were a part of the life of those three precious children are experiencing, or, even to convey sympathy.

Sir, this carnage on the roads must stop! I am left speechless, in shock and angered by reading about this tragedy that I think the government needs to now implement the harshest punishment for the numerous lawless drivers in Jamaica who by their wanton, reckless and don't-care attitude, have killed so many good, law-abiding citizens.

I am, etc.,
