Breaking a cycle
THE EDITOR, Sir:
IT IS unprecedented in the political history of the country for a major party not to be elected to govern, both at the national and the local government level in nearly twenty years.
However the sharp downturn in economic growth and development should help to make it possible for a well organised opposition to break that cycle. For the present opposition to be politically attractive it has to facilitate the necessary change, that will enable it to beat the competition.
