The abuse of traffic regulations
published: Wednesday | July 2, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

TODAY I felt compelled to write about the daily abuse of the road traffic regulations by truck drivers using the Fern Gully Road. The road signs indicate that trucks are not allowed in Fern Gully.

For the past eighteen months I have been travelling to Ocho Rios five days per week and almost daily I travel behind or ahead of trucks through the Fern Gully.

The sad part of this story is that over the past eighteen months I have not ever once come across the police at either end of Fern Gully to enforce compliance with the regulations.

It is clear that we have no regard for our environment or this regulation would have been vigilantly enforced.

I am, etc.,

GRACE WYATT
