Jamaica Gleaner Letters
published: Thursday | July 3, 2003

Standing up for accountability
THE EDITOR, Sir: IT IS with admiration and regret that I feel that this letter should be written.

Unsatisfactory service at RGD
THE EDITOR, Sir: ON MARCH 14, 2003, I visited the RGD's office situated on Half-Way Tree Road and paid via the debit card facility a total of $1,170 for copies of Birth and Marriage certificates for three individuals including the writer's.

Ridiculous charges on magazines
THE EDITOR, Sir: I HOPE that the letters from Dr. Ralph Thompson (June 26) and Doreen McLeod Bramwell (June 29) have caught the eyes of the 'powers that be' who have put the ridiculous charges on magazines...

Desmond McKenzie can bring back order
THE EDITOR, Sir: I READ the headline, 'McKenzie vows to bring back order', 06/29/2003. If Desmond McKenzie cannot bring back order to Kingston, then only Seaga can.

Wasting money to get a UK visa
THE EDITOR, Sir: I WOULD just like to tell my fellow Jamaicans about my visit to the British High Commission. I went there last week in an attempt to get a visa to visit that country with my two children for the summer.

Caring for the handicapped
THE EDITOR, Sir: SATURDAY JUNE 28, 2003 I visited a home that cares for variously challenged children and have since been grappling with this question...

Escaping reality
THE EDITOR, Sir: TOULOUSE LAUTREC, the celebrated French painter, when asked why he was so fond of the bottle is said to have replied to the following effect...

Reneto Adams
THE EDITOR, Sir: WHY DO you keep treating Reneto Adams as if he is some sort of super-hero instead of what he really is?...

CCJ a political matter
THE EDITOR, Sir: CARICOM Heads of Government seem hell-bent on the establishment of the CCJ despite a large body of opinion to the contrary.
