THE WORLD Netball Championships are just seven days away and one group of people bound to attract attention at the event will be the volunteers.

Vilma McDonald (who has specific responsibilities for the volunteers), speaking from the World Netball Championships Secretariat based in New Kingston, told The Gleaner "the volunteers will be appropriately attired".

The just over 300 volunteers, most of them females, will be uniformly dressed for the occasion. As a result, they will not be allowed to wear jeans or sneakers.

Polo and T-shirts, black tailored pants and black walking shoes will be worn by the men while the ladies will be modestly dressed in skirts and walking shoes.

The colours of the Polo and T-shirts have not yet been decided but sources close to the secretariat believe gold and white will be among those worn.

Apart from their uniform dressing, the volunteers also have accreditation cards.
