Where is the netball, CVM?
published: Wednesday | July 16, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

AS A netball enthusiast, I was clearly looking forward to this so-called exclusive viewing of the World Netball Championship on CVM-TV. Suffice it to say, up to this point I am yet to see most of the games.

It has just been one here or one there since the competition started. Exclusive, I'm sure, does not mean showing mostly the Jamaica matches. What about the viewers who would like to see the standard of the other countries at play?

Second, the commentary has been poor. Can you imagine the male commentator saying that the capital of Sri Lanka is Colombia, instead of Colombo? The least CVM-TV could have done was to try and hire for the matches, commentators of the calibre of Neville 'Bertis' Bell and or Gary Samuels of Radio 2. Bertis was fantastic on Radio 2 during Sunday's games.

I am, etc.,

JACQUELINE WRIGHT

Mandeville,

Manchester.
