Such inhumane treatment
published: Thursday | July 17, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

FIRST, I am not Jamaican, but I visit your beautiful country regularly.

I was appalled upon reading your story in The Gleaner, dated July 16, regarding children in state-run facilities. I cannot believe that children are subjected to such inhumane treatment, and I must tell you that the Government of Jamaica should be held accountable and make restitution to each and every one of these neglected and ill-treated children.

In God's name, what would possess a government to act in such a miserable manner on the future generations of their country?

I am, etc.,
