Saddened by the deaths
published: Monday | July 21, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

NOW THAT we are at the end of the summer term, we begin preparation for the forthcoming term with a reflection on the events of the term just completed. Unfortunately, a recent road tragedy occurring in St. Thomas, lingers on in our minds.

Jamaica Save the Children wishes to express condolences to the family of Anna-Kay Roberts, Carlton Crate and Devonte Crate who were killed in that incident in June 2003.

With early childhood education being our primary objective, we are even more saddened to hear that Anna-Kay was just successful in passing her Grade Six Achievement Test for St. Hugh's High School and was not given the opportunity to realise her dreams.

We hope that the government and all road users will endeavour to stop this carnage on our roads.

We are, etc.,
