The Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre, Hope Road (beside Jamaica House), will be the venue for the Jamaica Popular Song Competition. Ten finalists will be vying for the National Popular Song Award for Jamaica 40.

It's Showtime as the Reggae Boyz play a Brazilian Team from Rio De Janeiro at the National Stadium, Kingston. There will be a Pre-Game Show starting at 2 p.m., featuring Sizzla, Baby Cham, Beenie Man, Wayne Marshall, Buju Banton, Tony Rebel, Abijah, Tanya Stephens, Bushman, TOK and Cecile. Music by Stone Love. Gates open at 11:30 a.m. Match kick off time 5 p.m.

The Kingston College Old Boys' Association presents The Annual Purple Masters in Concert at 5 Savoy Terrace, off Long Lane, Kingston 8, commencing at 3 p.m. Selecting duties will be carried out by Roy Black, Richie Clarke and Gemini. The Poetry Society of Jamaica will be hosting its Monthly Poetry Fellowship at the School of Drama, Edna Manley College, Arthur Wint Drive, commencing at 7:00 p.m. Special guest will be Mbala, who recently returned from the 13th International Poetry Festival in Columbia. There will also be a open mic session.

Night Flight Landing will be held on the lawns of the Liguanea Club, Knutsford Boulevard, New Kingston. Featuring Admiral Bailey. Music by Renaissance Disco.

The Postal Corporation of Jamaica, in collaboration with the Post and Telecom Sports Club, present a Pre-Emancipation Gospel Extravaganza Concert and Opening Ceremony of their Annual Summer Rally at CSO car park, beginning at 12 noon. Featuring JCDC Gospel Finalist Nicole Robinson and Rohan Gunter plus others.

Radio Play - Ultimate Dis Jock Party will be held at Indies Pub, 8 Holborn Road, New Kingston. Featuring DJ Marlon Young, DJ Liquid, Megga Flexx, DJ Ques, Progressive Flex and Razz & Biggy.
