Hats off to Carmen Stewart
published: Tuesday | July 29, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

IN JAMAICA there are many persons who work assiduously to develop and create new opportunities for the island and its inhabitants. However many of these persons are not given their rightful recognition and appreciation. One of these persons is Bishop, the Hon. Rev. Dr. Carmen Stewart, Custos of St. Andrew, educator, minister of religion, role model, businesswoman and leader.

Bishop Stewart is educated, inspirational, powerful, influential, humble and civic-minded. She is a humble woman who goes beyond duty's call to serve. She is a real woman of God who also has a genuine concern for the people. She has served Jamaica in both the civic and religious communities. She has made the pathway for many persons especially women. She is a true testimony that a woman can achieve things just like a man.

Bishop, the Hon. Rev. Dr. Carmen Stewart, you are a gift to Jamaica. It is people like you who reflect the warmth of Jamaican people. Keep on serving Jamaica with your gifts and talents Dr. Stewart.

I am, etc.,

DIMARIO SULLIVAN
