David Hall is Digicel's new COO
published: Wednesday | July 30, 2003

CHIEF EXECUTIVE Officer of Digicel (Caribbean), Seamus Lynch, has announced that the company's finance director, David Hall, has been promoted to the post of chief operations officer (COO) for Jamaica, effective August 1.

In Mr. Hall's new role, he will be responsible for overseeing Digicel's continued growth in Jamaica.

Mr. Hall is a qualified chartered accountant with a Bachelor's degree in computing and an MBA in Economics from University College Cork in Ireland, and an MBS specialising in accountancy from Dublin City University.

Digicel's finance director since April 2002, Mr. Hall comes to his new post with a wealth of experience in telecommunications and has been instrumental in the general operations and success of the company over the past year.

Before coming to Jamaica last year, he served as operations director in Servecast, a leading European provider of outsourced streaming media delivery services. He was also the financial controller of the Consumer Division within Esat Telecom, and before that, was finance manager with Kerry Group Plc, one of the world's leading food ingredients groups.

Speaking on the new appointment, Mr. Lynch said Mr. Hall had been a vital member of Digicel's management team since coming on board and would add further knowledge and expertise in his new role.

"We are pleased to have David in his new capacity and we expect him to continue to do great things for us here in Jamaica," Mr. Lynch said.

Earlier this month, Digicel announced that further investment in its expansion throughout Jamaica would exceed $600 million (US$10 million), bringing the company's total investment in Jamaica over the last two years to US$345 million.
