THE EDITOR, Sir:
WITH A house full of children, two of them ill in bed and trying to get some rest, this is what we had to contend with and endure over the weekend from the 'Fashion Fair' at Devon House full blast and nasty:
".... Just got paid and I godda liddle money to burn... Godda get laid godda find me a sexy girl..."
Over and over at full volume in our own home and we could do nothing. That was just one of the many far more explicit obscene songs played loud and nasty and ad nauseam. But it could have been gospel or church music the volume was ridiculous and incomprehensibly loud.
THE POLICE
We called the police over and over, to no avail. Must be some secret we don't know, why nothing was done. But the last time I called this was one of the responses I got, "You should have objected to it while it was being advertised." So in other words, tough on me, and what's that you said about noise law? What's that? I can't hear you. I'm deaf as well as insane.
The insanity could be partially caused, I must admit, by the ganja smoke I was forced to inhale, drifting over the wall and flowing into whatever nostrils, of whatever size, it might choose. My children already know that smell, as we live next door to that permanent nirvana of ganja smokers Devon House.
FOUL-MOUTHED PERFORMANCE
In the papers Monday morning I was bemused by the article on Sean Paul and how he was arrested after his foul-mouthed performance. He only did what comes naturally, and what is expected of him if he is to remain popular. This is where we are as a people, and this is where our poor children are. We are not just murdering our children with motor vehicles, guns and neglect. We are killing them with our entertainment.
I am, etc.,
