Beaches Boscobel celebrates first birthday
published: Saturday | August 2, 2003

OCHO RIOS:

BEACHES RESORTS newest family playground, Beaches Boscobel Resort and Golf Club, celebrated its first anniversary recently with the launch of a week of activities.

The week of activities began with a church service at St. Mary's Parish Church in Port Maria and the blessing of the resort by Rev. Father Charles Manderson.

Three cocktail parties followed and the Ultra Team Members Awards Ceremony, along with the crowning of the 'Mini Miss Beaches Boscobel'.

The festivities culminated with a star-studded food and entertainment extravaganza for the entire family. This included a steel pan band, snake charmer, fortune teller and clowns.

Cabaret star, Claudette Miller, and her group, took the party-goers to another level when she took the appreciative audience through hits of the '70s, '80s and '90s and ended her session with a celebration jump up to soca-reggae music.

Eighteen-time Sandals Signature guest, Michael Wackowski from Tulsa USA, and local guests, Hermin Charlton and Dudley Allen, both from Ocho Rios, were the three lucky winners of four-days-three-nights stay for a family of four at the resort in the grand prize drawing.

Community partners, Red Stripe, J.Wray and Nephew, Margaritaville, Best Dressed, Rainforest, National Meats, Arosa Limited enhanced the evening of activities by providing unlimited food and liquor at booths spread across the pool deck at the resort.

Top Kingston and Montego Bay business executives, international and local journalists, community members and members of the Beaches/Sandals family, all turned out to celebrate with Jeff McKitty, General Manager, and his team in this momentous occasion.
