CONVENTION

The Church of God (Seventh Day) Jamaica Conference presents it's 59th General Convention at Darling Pen, Spanish Town Roundabout, St. Catherine. The convention is set to begin at 9 a.m. for the Sabbath Service and 7 p.m. for the night service and will be staged under the theme The Vision and the Victory. Runs until August 5.

TEENAGERS

Teenagers - A 'must see' for all teenagers - will be playing at the Pantry Playhouse, Dumfries Road, Kingston. Featuring Volier 'Maffie' Johnson, Shirley/Monique, Ruth/Marsha-Ann, Nadine, Tony, Dean, Charles, Andre and JJ. Showtimes : Fridays 8:30 p.m., Saturdays 8:30 p.m. and Sundays 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

STAGES

Stages, the third in the series of Appleton Temptation Isle parties, will be held at Wavz, Negril, Westmoreland. The international ultra-inclusive party will feature Renaissance, Black Chiney, Kurt Riley and Renegade. There will be unlimited food and drinks. Start time: 4 p.m.

TRIBUTE TO THE GREATS 6

King Omar Promotions presents Tribute to the Greats 6 at Curphey Place, Swallowfield Road, St. Andrew. Featuring Alton Ellis, Ken Boothe, Bunny & Scully, Brent Dowe and Lone Ranger. Guest selectors Bunny Goodison, King Stitt and Haggie. Backing band Studio One All Stars. MCs: Norma Brown and Lou Gooden. Gates open at 8 p.m., showtime 10:30 p.m.

ANNUAL DENBIGH SHOWCASE

The Annual Denbigh Showcase will take place at the Denbigh Agricultural Show Ground, May Pen, beginning at 6 p.m. Featuring Ken Boothe, Leroy Sibbles, Bare Essentials, The Jamaicans, Predator and Professor Nuts. Music by Merritone Disco.

CLUB LIQUID

The Smirnoff Experience will be at The Jungle, Negril, Westmoreland, for Club Liquid from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Featuring Renaissance, Coppershot and the Jungle Residents DJs.

SANDI PATTY

Multi-Grammy winner Sandi Patty will be live in concert at Independence Praise at the National Arena, beginning at 8 p.m.

MELLO-GO-ROUND

The Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre, Hope Road (beside Jamaica House), will be the venue for Mello-Go-Round 'Jamaica's Premier Family Show. The show will feature entertaining acts in dance, music, speech and traditional folk forms from the 2003 Festival of the Performing Arts. Start time: 8 p.m.

BAD CONNECTION

Calvary Baptist Church Drama Group presents Bad Connection at the Calvary Baptist Church Education Centre, Montego Bay, St. James, commencing at 6:30 p.m.

POOL VIBES HOT SUMMER MIX - POOL PARTY

Face Entertainment and La Face International present Pool Vibes Hot Summer Mix - Pool Party at the Mandeville Hotel Poolside, Mandeville, Manchester, beginning at 7 p.m. Featuring Chico, Divino, and many more. Music by 4 Play Disco.

URBAN EXPLOSION

Constant Spring Golf Club, Constant Spring Road, Kingston, will be the venue for Urban Explosion, featuring Coppershot, Razz & Biggy, Arif Cooper and Harry Toddler.

CARL DAWKINS & FRIENDS MANCIPATED MIND AFFAIR CELEBRATION

Everoseydon Production presents Carl Dawkins & Friends Mancipated Mind Affair Celebration at the Cable Hut Beach, 8 Miles, Bull Bay, St. Andrew. Featuring Beres Hammond, Marcia Griffiths, Derrick Harriot, Errol Dunkley, Sugar Minott, Buju Banton, John Holt, Tristan Palma, Tinga Stewart, The Melodians, Pam Hall and many more. APPLETINI BIKINI PARTY - CRAZY BEACH VIBES

The Appleton Temptation Isle series of parties will come to a close with the Appletini Bikini Party - Crazy Beach Vibes at Risky Business, Negril, Westmoreland from 12 noon to 8 p.m. Featuring Kurt Riley, Black Chiney and Renegade. There will also be an exclusive performance by Elephant Man. Special invited guests the Alliance with Bounty, Wayne, and friends. The party will be hosted by Papa Keith from 105 FM in Miami.

Wavz, Negril, Westmoreland will be hosting Wild Sides. Featuring Elephant Man and Wild Friends. Music by Colin Hines, Xclamation, DJ Epps, DJ Green Lantern and Renaissance with Delano & Jazzy T. Also featuring Elephant Man. Drinks inclusive.

TOPS - THE SUPER INCLUSIVE BEACH PARTY

TOPS - The Super Inclusive Beach Party will be held at Cosmos, (beside Beaches Negril), Westmoreland, from 12 noon to 8 p.m. Music by Code Red, Coppershot, DJ Karim and Bambino from Miami. There will be a wide variety of food and drinks.

EMANCIPATION/INDEPENDENCE CHURCH SERVICE

The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission St. Elizabeth Chapter will be having their Emancipation/Independence Church Service at the St. John's Anglican Church Hall, Black River, St. Elizabeth. Start time : 8 a.m. A Tea Party will be staged at Leeds All Age School beginning at 6 p.m.

JAMAICA 360 DEGREES - A REVOLUTION IN THEATRE

Emetic Roots Productions presents Jamaica 360 Degrees - A Revolution in Theatre. The play will be on at the Cecil Charlton Hall, Mandeville. The play stars Dervan Malcolm, Munair Zacca, Maria Morgan and Anthony Miller.

CINDY-RELISHA & THE DJ PRINCE

Patrick Brown's Cindy-Relisha & the DJ Prince, featuring Glen 'Titus' Campbell, Claudette Pious, Chris Daley, Winston Bell, Dahlia Harris and Donisha Prendergast, will be on for two shows at the Ward Theatre, downtown Kingston. Showtime : 4 and 7 p.m.

GOSPEL ON THE BEACH

Gospel on the Beach a 'fun and praise concert' will be held at Caribbean Beach Park, Montego Bay, beginning at 5 p.m. Featuring Prodigal Son, Junior Tucker, Sherry Morris (Alaska), Pastor Terry W. Bombar and others.

BAD CONNECTION

GROOVIN' ON A SUNDAY AFTERNOON

GRAND FLOAT PARADE

The Festival 2003 Committee presents the Grand Float Parade throughout various parishes. The grand Independence Day celebration will feature civic ceremonies, floats, effigies, concerts to culminate in a hip-swaying, feet-stomping, hand-waving Independence Street Dance in Half-Way Tree Square.

ELEPHANT MAN 3-A-SIDE BASKETBALL COMPETITION

The Dunrobin Youth Club, in association with In De Streets, present Elephant Man 3-A-Side Basketball Competition at the Calabar High School, 61 Red Hills Road, Kingston 20. First prize: $30,000, second prize: $15,000.

INDEPENDENCE FLOAT & FUN DAY

The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission St. Elizabeth Chapter will be having their Independence Float & Fun Day at the St. Elizabeth Technical High School, Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth.
