Traffic changes for Independence

TO FACILITATE a number of events for the Independence celebrations, the police have instituted several traffic changes.

The New Kingston Street Jam today will see road closures and diversion of Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) buses.

The following roads were closed to vehicular traffic from 11:00 p.m. yesterday until 2:00 a.m. tomorrow:

Knutsford Boulevard ­ between Trafalgar Road and Trinidad Terrace.

Barbados Avenue ­ between St. Lucia Avenue and Grenada Crescent.

Grenda Crescent ­ between St. Lucia Avenue and Dumfries Road.

Tobago Avenue ­ between Knutsford Boulevard and St. Lucia Avenue.

The police say that all JUTC buses, which uses Trafalgar Road and Knutsford Boulevard will be diverted as follows:

From Trafalgar Road to Holborn Road ­ Chelsea Avenue to Half-Way Tree Road.

From Oxford Road to Knutsford Boulevard ­ Dominica Drive to Holborn Road/Chelsea Avenue.
