Fix Half-Way Tree's chaotic traffic mess
published: Tuesday | August 5, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THE TRAFFIC authorities have allowed Half-way Tree to become a lawless, chaotic mess. Happily it does not require a rocket scientist to come up with solutions such as the following:

Turning right on exiting Clock Tower Plaza heading east toward Hope Road should be prohibited.

Close monitoring and ticketing of vehicles using the so-called "bus-lane" after turning right from Mandela Park heading east toward Hope Road

Strict enforcement of no-parking rules. Particular vigilance should be paid to Constant Spring Road heading towards Half-way Tree.

Will it take some major catastrophe before the authorities take steps to address this situation?

I am, etc.,

M.D.D
