Beautiful piece of art

THE EDITOR, Sir: I LOVE the sculpture 'Redemption Song'. Wow! Does it make a statement. I was sorry to hear of the mix responses it's getting. It is beautiful. I think the people need to focus on the art and not on the nudity. The sculpture, I think, is saying that we are all the same; nudity expresses freedom, freedom for all. Whether you are black or white, blue or green, we all came in this world, the same way 'naked'. Therefore, we should all be treated, respected and love one another the same as we would want for ourselves. I love the piece and I hope it stays as is. Right now, with so much going on around the world affecting us black folks, we need to be reminded and re-introduced to our culture and heritage and be proud of something positive and not be ashamed of who we are and where we came from. We are all naked, we are 'Redemption Song'. I am, etc., THERESA GRAVES phatgalsexyt@aol.com Inglewood California Via Go-Jamaica
