JAMAICA'S TOURISM is to benefit from a number of SuperClubs-sponsored overseas television and magazine press tours of the island, says the Super-Inclusive resort group's Vice President for Marketing, Zein Nakash.
SuperClubs' hip Hedonism II in Negril has been hosting BNN-TV from Holland; Channel 4, from the Dominican Republic; and five writers and photographers from a group of United States magazines. They have been gathering material for a series of programmes and articles, to be released later this year, Mrs. Nakash said recently.
BNN-TV is a public television station originating in Amsterdam, and focusing on youth. The Jamaican programme will highlight the island's tourism highpoints, reggae music, and Hedonism II's bash entertainment fare, Mrs. Nakash reports.
The five-member Holland crew spent two days at Hedonism II, gathering the footage.
The Channel Four group of six spent four days at Hedonism II, and their programme, named 'Funstyle', will zero in on reggae's roots and its continued growing international popularity.
The five photo journalists represented various United States magazines targeting single women and African Americans.
Mrs. Nakash says the overall exposure will translate into "good publicity for Jamaica."
